Kris Lawrence: Bringing the rhythms
and erasing the blues

Kris Lawrence took a chance when he flew to the Philippines to join a prestigious singing competition. Now, he is taking a chance to make you fall in love with his unique R & B flavor.

If not for his friend, Philippines ' R & B Prince Jay-R, who kept on bugging him to show his stuff there, he wouldn't have made it big. Yet, from day one of 'Search for a Star in A Million,' it was evident that he was destined for stardom anyway.

Week by week, he showed his vocal versatility and unmatched stage presence which made him a cut above the rest. And up to this day, this lad from California still brings that same passion every time he performs.

Born Kristofer Lawrence Cadevida, Kris Lawrence has his own way of interpreting songs but he never fails to amaze audiences. He has his own way of delivering songs as if it were his personal messages to you. You can feel the joy or sadness of a track whenever you hear him sing. Also, Kris has the ability to fuse some Pinoy flavor to a foreign track. But, the Kris Lawrence package doesn't end there. He is also regarded as one of the best dressed singers in the nation. He has a fashion style that only he can pull off no matter how many people try and duplicate it. And this wardrobe sense highlights the wonderful physique that he possesses.

All of these contribute to the fact that his popularity in the Philippines continues to grow. His fans can sense that he sings from the heart and they are captivated by it. No wonder he is called the 'Heart of R & B' for he exudes talent and determination every time he takes the stage.

This display of musical prowess is best exemplified in his self-titled debut album. This six-track record features his original hit single 'Kung Malaya Lang Ako' which became a chart-topper in various radio stations. Also included are his own versions of 'I Love The Way You Love Me' and 'When I See You Smile'. And though it only contains a few tracks, you can sense in it his innate R & B vibe that only a few can match.

His album gained moderate success which paved the way for him to make appearances in the concerts of the top singers in the country such as Jay-R, Sarah Geronimo and Billy Crawford. And with the way things are going, it won't be long before he performs in his own major concert. And when that day comes, we will see his fans smile.
